Iguana Mexican Grill in Hoover

They were off their game today. We had a pretty good meal. We started out with cheese dip and guacamole dip. (They don't mix well, I add that to keep you from wasting good dip...) The entries were good and good size portions for the price. I can't speak for the rest of the party, but my chicken burrito was pretty good. Meat was tender and the rice was soft and tasty.The service was a little slow. We had to flag waiters down for more chips and refills. Typically they are on top of it.Definitely a good meal to be had, go and enjoy. We didn't have the dessert but it looked really good.

Place clean, love the decor, extensive menu, food good. Only discontent was no ectra napkins are given. We had only the 1 black cloth napkin and I am a messy eater with messy food! He never came back to refill our sweet tea. He was friendly but rushed. We talked more to his back than to his face.

Guacamole is really good with the homemade chips. The Chile burrito with chicken and cheese sauce added amazing! The ambiance is very nice and artistic. Worth the trip!

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Birmingham. All the food is delicious and the margaritas are even better! Also all the decor on the inside is amazing. Perfect place for any occasion.

the waiter Carmen is fantastic!! She is very friendly and very caring! i will be coming back just so she can wait on us..The lady i take care of has cancer and she went out of her way to help us!!

This is a good family- friendly place to eat. It is casual and noisy, so kids can have fun without disturbing other patrons. The food is good and prices are average. Overall, a good choice!

Normally I dine in for lunch. Tonight I did a call in order and when I went to pick it up the staff was so rude. My order was NOT ready in 20 mins like promised and 20 minutes later the brought me the wrong order. I will never dine in here again.

Great atmosphere. The iguana margarita was DELICIOUS. Our waiter was not very attentive but I'll excuse him since it was Margarita Day ( but they didn't participate).

Fun and interesting interior design! Service was professional, quick and friendly. The food was presented hot and was cooked well. The margaritas we're NOT neon green, YAY! We enjoyed our meal and visit to Iguana Grill.

Had an amazing time here. The atmosphere is beautiful and the food tastes great. The restaurant is filled with gorgeous lights that really make Iguana Grill such a wonderful place to visit. I would most definitely recommend this restaurant.

Very nice establishment be aware they give you all alcohol in your drinks! They have a sign posted informing the customer of the 1 and 1/4 oz of alcohol per drink enough to flatten me glad I got a icy cold beer! In town for a Pink Zebra rally had a ball would return nice day trip from Atlanta.

They came up on google when I was looking for some edible food this year, so I figured I would give them their review finally. I have eaten at Iguana grill for my birthday for probably 4 years straight, until last year it was great. Gone way down hill

Consistent food, service, and drinks. The salsa is a step up, the drinks are delish! The atmosphere and decor is above par for the Birmingham area. Great drinks and my vegan friend was even able to order food! I would love another location, as it is a drive for me to dine here.

Beautiful restaurant! Lovely staff and attentive service. Fajita style chimichangas were delicious, enchiladas just okay. Worth a visit.

OK now, I don't like to just give bad reviews so I'll say something good first. The chicken burrito was good, but I ordered steak😒 The margaritas are not good at all and seemed watered down. This was on a Saturday at 2:30. This was my second visit to make sure my 1st visit should have been my last as well. The waiter was nice, restrooms were clean, food was tasteless and this was my last visit Oh the first restroom stall gets stuck. I was stuck for 2 minutes, shake the door.

We come here often. One of the best "Mexican" style restaurants in the area. Update 11/ 2018: still one of the best "Mexican" restaurants in the Birmingham area. I'm upgrading my rating to five stars. The food and the service is excellent and the atmosphere is great. Highly recommended.

I went with coworkers. Im not a fan of Mexican food but figured I'd give it a try. There are multiple other places i would've loved to have gone.

It was a pleasant experience, quickly set the tables for a company of 16 people. Clean, good looking (and tasting) food. Will come again! :)

It's been awhile since our last visit and this place is still fantastic. The food is good and the ambience is better. Think of this place as a step up from your standard strip mall Mexican Restaurant, with an expanded menu. Every time I have ever been here the service has been spot on.

Good food and great prices...

Always good Mexican food. I have always had a good experience here. They are very capable of handling large parties as well as the lunch crowd. Their service and attentiveness is usually right on spot. I usually get the Speedy Gonzales. I love their chips and salsa and usually eat the whole basket of chips myself.
